About Island SPACE

Island SPACE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the development and advancement of arts, culture, history, and educational initiatives that represent the Caribbean region, in South Florida and the broader diaspora community. The organization produces events, and supports independent artists, organizations and groups who deliver high-level presentations, in various art forms.

Photo Art Project

The photo art project is a collection of images representative of South Florida’s Caribbean community. Photographers are invited to share their images of typical Caribbean life representing the cross-section of cultures, from Jamaican to Cuban, Haitian to Bahamian, Trinidadian to Dominican, and all else they can capture.

The project will take various forms and generate multiple products developed for the benefit of both the artists and the nonprofit organization. Images will first be seen in a traveling art exhibition featuring 20 – 40 selected images. Approximately 120 images will be selected for a coffee table book, the proceeds of which will benefit the nonprofit. Popular images may also be offered on merchandise made available through the nonprofit.
